Shannan Vance-Ocampo

Shannan’s passion is for the ministry of prophetic engagement in faith-based communities. She loves to help raise up leaders, whether they be individuals or communities. Shannan grew up between the Jersey Shore and Philadelphia and has also lived at various points in Ohio, Illinois, New Jersey and upstate New York in the United States. Internationally, she has lived in Scotland, Greece and Colombia.  Since 2006 she has worked on a long-term project of human rights accompaniment in South America. These diverse locations all inform her ministry and insights.

Her work comes out of a strong base of wide experience: she has served five congregations in pastoral leadership, two in the Chicagoland area, two in New Jersey and one in Massachusetts. She has spent the last five years in judicatory ministry, first leading a judicatory of 65 congregations in upstate New York and currently is leading one of 27 congregations spanning the States of Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She serves on multiple committees, teams and boards in various leadership capacities in both the church and nonprofit sector.

Shannan works in private practice for congregational consulting and pastoral coaching. She sees coaching as the vehicle by which to integrate her core values of equipping and training leaders through the practice of co-active reflection for the prophetic transformation of communities.

Shannan is a graduate of The College of Wooster and McCormick Theological Seminary and currently enrolled in doctoral studies at Hartford Theological Seminary. She is a Certified Christian Educator and has certificates in Executive Leadership and Funds Development.
